Wadhurst, East Sussex, England

High Street, Wadhurst

Best Beech Hill

Best Beech Hill lies approximately 1.6 miles east of Wadhurst on the B2100 road.

According to Coxe, a place named Beggar's Bush is haunted by the apparition of a ghost carrying a sack on its back. The figure appears in a garden "at dusk when the fruit is ripe". From this description, it could be suggested that Beggar's Bush is or was a house, but this has yet to be clarified.
